Ventura Comedy Festival to be held September 22-28th

Year four of the 2014 Ventura Comedy Festival is scheduled for September 22-28, and Festival Producer and comedian Randy Lubas promises it to be the best one yet.

Four years ago Lubas set out to put the beautiful city of Ventura on the international map as a destination for comedy and tourism. Last year over 5000 people attended 33 shows with over 200 comedians at 6 locations in Ventura County.

Back for the third year is Adam Carolla, this year in The Top of The Harbor Ballroom at The Crowne Plaza Hotel.  This show is on September 24, at 8:00.  Adam Carolla is listed in The Guiness Book for hosting the most downloaded podcast in the world, reaching millions.  Also in The Top of the Harbor Ballroom will be YouTube sensation Miranda Sings with Special Guest Colleen Ballinger. This show will be at 7:00 on September 28 to close the festival.

International Comedy Star Maz Jobrani will be appearing on September 23 at Ventura Harbor Comedy Club.

This year The Festival is awarding a $1500 cash prize to the winner of The Ventura Comedy Competition, which takes place throughout the festival with 10 big shows. Second place will receive $500.  Last year over 80 comedians entered the Competition, and the very funny rising star Maunda Oyin was the winner.  This year there will be over 100 comedians vying for the title.

Each Year, the festival has presented a theatrical one man show, and this year we are proud to announce the Sandy Hackett will be performing “My Buddy” his heart felt tribute to his father, legendary comedian Buddy Hackett.

The Festival will feature many theme shows, including The Latino All Stars, Clean Comedy, Fresh Faces, Black Friday, Jews Gone Wild, Comedy’s Bad Girls, The Dirty Dozen, Comedy Legends, The Sirens of Comedy, International Comedy, and many Headliner showcases.

Shows will take place at Ventura Harbor Comedy Club, The 805 Bar and Grilled Cheese, The Greek at The Harbor, The Green Room at Ventura Harbor Comedy Club, The Players Casino, and The Crowne Plaza.
