Construction Begins on New Jaguar Land Rover Dealership in Columbia

July 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Construction has begun on the all-new combined Jaguar Columbia and Land Rover Columbia dealership. Both dealers now share an address at 540 Jamil Rd. The new facility will combine both brands and will include sales, service, and parts departments. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of March 2015.

Both dealerships will be open for business during construction, with the sales office and inventory of Jaguar Columbia already located on site. The Jaguar service department is still in its original location at 3700 Fernandina Road, and will move to the new location in January 2015.

"This is a large investment in the Columbia community, and we are looking forward to better serving the market with this modern, high-tech facility,” said Warner Peacock, President and CEO of NRAM Holdings, LLC, the parent company of Jaguar Land Rover Columbia. "We will still be operational during the building process and will provide the same level of service to which our customers are accustomed."

The new state-of-the-art dealership facility will total 23,000 square feet. It will feature a modern, up-to-date showroom, as well as a new parts and service center. At present there are a total of 50 employees who work at both dealerships, and they have now joined forces at the new location.

The move combining Jaguar and Land Rover makes good sense, since these British automakers have been united as a joint venture since 1968, and since 2008 have operated as a subsidiary of the Indian automaker Tata Motors. Combining the dealerships also means that drivers from in and around Columbia can visit one location and find all of the dynamic new vehicles that have kept these two luxury performance auto brands among the most well-respected worldwide.

The general contractor in charge of construction is Shelco, which has its corporate headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. The cost of the project is estimated to be in excess of $4.3 million.

The dealership will host a grand opening celebration when the project is completed in the Spring, so Jaguar and Land Rover fans in the Columbia area should make sure to stay tuned for the latest news.
