The two day conference will kick off Friday August 15th from 6p.m.— 9p.m. The meet and greet will be a chance to get up close and personal with the speakers and founder of the Survivors with Voices Foundation, Alissa R. Jones. Following the meet and greet is the conference on Saturday, August 16th from 8a.m.-5:30p.m. This conference also provides an opportunity for those who have suffered abuse, to let go of the bitterness that hinders them from living an abundant life. There will be a performance by keynote speaker, Tasha Page-Lockhart whose voice is sure to inspire hope for the masses.

Tasha Page-Lockhart is the season six winner of BET’s Sunday Best gospel competition, receiving over 1.6 million votes. She is also the daughter of famed and respected gospel songstress, Lisa Page Brooks. Her journey into the music industry was not an easy one. A victim of childhood sexual abuse herself, Page-Lockhart experienced the pain, anger, and self-destruct that many victims go through.  After realizing her worth and talent, she now offers her testimony to help others through song and is now signed to Kirk Franklin’s label, Fo Yo Soul Recording under RCA where she continues to show her growth. “It’s such a humbling experience because you never forget where you came from…nobody knows you like you or the intent of your heart but God,” said Lockhart. “My life has totally changed, it’s so humbling.”

The conference further aims to help anyone struggling with the pain from their past and or present to move forward “voice their invisible wounds” and be heard. It will be therapeutic in encouraging the ‘hurt’ to realize their breakthrough is near. “Your words, your journey, your story…you never know who you may inspire to help to come forward in the expression of one’s abuse or recovery,” said Founder of Survivors with Voices Foundation, Alissa Jones. “As I was able to do so, I wish to help others unlock their voice and heal the wounds that can’t be seen,” said Jones.
