PRLog - July 27, 2014 - PETOSKEY, Mich. -- Petoskey's 12th Annual Festival on the Bay will be held Thursday, August 14 through Sunday, August 17, and the festival committee is happy to announce a brand new BBQ event that everyone can enjoy!
On Saturday, August 16 is the new BBQ on the Bay Competition. The event will be held in the ball field near the big Entertainment Tent and will feature an amateur rib grilling competition with amazing prizes. This new rib grilling competition is an exciting, competitive event with voting by Celebrity Judges and People’s Choice.
“If you want to compete, the entry fee is $40,” stated Johnnie Walker, Co-Coordinator for Festival on the Bay. “Entry forms can be found on the festival website and need to be submitted with payment to the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce office by noon on Friday, August 8th.”
Grillers need to bring their own cooking items like a grill, utensils, tongs, and cooler. Spices of choice can be used but must be in new, unopened containers for inspection.
A public tasting and voting event will be from from noon to 3:00 p.m on Saturday. The cost per punch card is $5.00 so the public is invited to come vote for the best Rib-Grilling Master in Petoskey.
"There will be music from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. by the Pistil Whips and we will have a special brew on tap from Beard’s Brewery," said Marcie Wolf, Co-Coordinator for Festival on the Bay.
The new BBQ on the Bay event is sponsored by Brown Motors and Pigs Eatin' Ribs and prizes are being donated by Meyer Ace Hardware and Maxwell Brothers Cycle Shop. Radio promotion is provided by Lite96, and the TV Media Sponsor is 9&10 News and Fox32.
