JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - July 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Jacksonville author Joe Chyla Sr.grew up in Bensonhurst, a section of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. His neighborhood was typical of working class neighborhoods in many areas during that period, but with a special factor that is revealed to readers in his newly published crime novel.

"I've had these stories buzzing around in my head since I was a kid. And my goal was to eventually find a way to write about some of the things that were in the news during the years when I was growing up." Chyla also revealed, "Not far from our home were several legitimate businesses owned by a few well known personalities who were being observed by law enforcement agencies during that time. And yet, our neighborhood was virtually crime free. I decided that writing a fictional novel was the best way to provide people around the world with a feel for the legends and stories that were part of the culture of our neighborhood during the 70's."

Set in Brooklyn N.Y, and moving through several actual locations, “Brooklyn Days Brooklyn Nights, a Crime Story” is a story with a contemporary feel, but set in the late 1970s. Chyla tells the story of Mr. P, a consigliere, or adviser to mob figures and CEO of a successful security company.

Mr. P, known for being a loyal and trusted friend and a dangerous enemy, makes a final call to his client Marcus, demanding that he pay what he owes before the day is over. If he doesn't, the results could be deadly. His revenge against this formerly trusted client, sets the stage for what grows into a late night home invasion and evolves into a series of unexpected outcomes.

Author Joe Chyla Sr. is keeping his day job for now, but, based on the early reviews of Brooklyn Days Brooklyn Nights, rumors of the possibility of interest from Hollywood have already begun making their way through social media sites.

Chyla's fast-paced debut novella has it all and takes readers on an interesting ride with twists and turns that are shocking and create a who-dun-it that leaves you guessing.”
