Whether you’re savoring a limited edition, seasonal flavor such as blueberry port or peach, or relishing in one of Bittersweet’s salted caramel-chocolate or bourbon-butterscotch flavors, summer is simply the best season to pair one of these delectable flavors with your favorite desserts, farm-fresh berries, coffees, drinks or other delights. Your imagination and creativity are the only limits on how to enjoy the infinite number of possible mouthwatering options.

         Made to order in small batches with fresh, locally sourced premium ingredients infused into each jar, Bittersweet first introduced its all-natural dessert sauce line to the public in 2013. The products received an overwhelmingly positive response from customers and the company subsequently expanded the line to include a variety of seasonal fruit and other flavors. In 2014, one of the most popular and best-selling sauces has been Bittersweet’s recently created bourbon butterscotch, which contains locally sourced ingredients from St. Louis-based distillery, StiLL 630, as well as Ozark Mountain cream. Bittersweet will choose one winner each week. The on-line promotion will run until September 21, 2014.

The #getsauced promotion mirrors the company’s own founding. Creativity and a passion for cooking are what ignited Audrey Scherrer to start Bittersweet Artisan Truffles. Scherrer began handcrafting chocolates for her clients as thank-you gifts when she worked for Marriott Hotels as an award-winning account executive. These same clients began requesting orders from her and she realized she could turn this craft into a business.With $5,000 of her personal savings, she subsequently opened Bittersweet Artisan Truffles.

Bittersweet’s sauces are currently available online and can be shipped throughout the U.S. In addition, they can also be found at local St. Louis area events, such as the Clayton Farmer’s Market.
