Snell & Wilmer Adds Trost and Jaech to Intellectual Property Group in Los Angeles

PRLog - Jul. 25, 2014 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its intellectual property group with the addition of patent prosecution partner Jonathan Jaech and intellectual property litigation counsel Glenn Trost to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Along with patent prosecutor Grant Langton, who joined the firm earlier this month, Jaech and Trost were previously with the law firm Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP.

“We continually look for strategic growth opportunities that make sense to our clients and the firm,” said Cary Jones, administrative partner of Snell & Wilmer’s Los Angeles office. “Jonathan, Glenn and Grant are outstanding attorneys with exceptional reputations in the legal community. They will be invaluable additions to our Southern California intellectual property practice and the firm as a whole.”

Jaech's practice includes intellectual property counseling, due diligence, licensing and transactions, patent prosecution including appeals and reissue, and reexaminations (ex parte or inter partes). His technical experience extends to a variety of areas, including mechanical, electrical and electromechanical devices, methods and manufacturing processes, computer-implemented technology, telecommunications and networking, micro-electronics and nanotechnology, medical devices, chemical compositions and materials, entertainment and gaming methods, computer graphics and image processing, and business methods. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Trost is a first-chair trial and appellate lawyer who represents clients in high-stakes disputes involving claims of patent infringement, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, trade secret violations and rights to publicity. He has been recognized by Southern California Super Lawyers® in the area of intellectual property law. He earned his J.D. cum laude from Southwestern Law School.

Jaech and Trost will join Langton, who was the managing partner of Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP’s Los Angeles office prior to joining Snell & Wilmer on July 1st. Langton now co-chairs Snell & Wilmer’s California intellectual property practice group and chairs the Los Angeles intellectual property group.
