U.S. Chamber and RecruitMilitary to Produce Veteran Job Fair in Tampa on August 28

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and RecruitMilitary will produce an All Veteran Career Fair at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 North W.C. MacInnes Place, in Tampa, on Thursday, August 28, 2014.

PRLog - Jul. 24, 2014 - LOVELAND, Ohio -- Cincinnati, OH – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the military-to-civilian recruitment firm RecruitMilitary will produce a job fair for veterans and other men and women with military backgrounds at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 North W.C. MacInnes Place, in Tampa on Thursday, August 28, 2014. USAA will sponsor the event, which runs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. RecruitMilitary is inviting veterans who already have civilian work experience, personnel who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members.

This event, a Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo, is part of a nationwide initiative to increase the hiring of veterans and military spouses by producing special career fair hiring events. The U.S. Chamber launched the Hiring Our Heroes initiative in March 2011.

RecruitMilitary and the Chamber expect more than 45 employers, franchisors, educational institutions, and government agencies to reserve exhibitor booths at the Expo. Already signed up are USAA; Lockheed Martin; Northrop Grumman Corp.; The Home Depot; DeVry University; U.S. Security Associates, Inc.; Troops to Teachers; Bank of America; Keiser University; FedEx; Enterprise Holdings; SCC Soft Computer; Center for Technology Training; Trident University International; David Griswold & Associates; Cypress Truck Lines, Inc.; Argosy University; Roto-Rooter; Performance Food Group; Career Path Media Group, Inc.; Strategic Systems Programs; Walmart; Department of Veteran Affairs; Veteran Franchise Centers; St. Petersburg College; Witt O'Brien's; Southern States Toyotalift & Florida Lift Systems; Core Link Surgical; Rush Enterprises, Inc.; J Dog Junk Removal; Amazon; Cummins Power South LLC.; PNC; Prudential Financial; Hilton Worldwide; Troy University; First Command Financial Planning; Heavy Construction Academy; The Art Institutes; and Georgia College of Construction.

In addition, USAA’s local Wealth Management team is presenting a seminar prior to the career fair at 10:00 a.m. The seminar is titled “Practical Advice for All Stages of Retirement Planning.” All veterans are welcome to attend this session intended to provide information for veterans and spouses as they consider their future retirement.

RecruitMilitary will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion (http://www.legion.org), an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.4 million members in nearly 14,000 posts throughout the world.
