Northstar Granite Part of KARE 11 Backyard Remodel in Golden Valley MN

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - July 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Northstar Granite Tops installed granite countertops as part of the Kare 11 Backyard remodel project in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

KARE 11, a news station in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, has used their backyard as a backdrop for news broadcasts for more than 30 years. The Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) was contacted to find companies to remodel this famous backyard.

Northstar Granite Tops was chosen by BATC to install the granite countertops in the outdoor kitchen. The kitchen features a bar-style seating area, grill and stainless steel refrigerator. The KARE 11 Backyard features a pondless waterfall, stone walkways, a pergola, outdoor fireplace and an outdoor kitchen.

Overall, the project took 6 months to plan and 10 weeks to complete. The viewers of KARE 11 voted on their favorite design.

The new backyard will be used as a backdrop and a set. Many cooking features and weather segments will be filmed outside.

For those interested in seeing the KARE 11 Backyard, each fall, BATC hosts the Parade of Homes. The KARE 11 Backyard is entry 11, and people can view the Parade of Homes every Saturday in September from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
