Her poems have appeared in many publications, such as Caprice, Vernacular and Rattle. Madeline won Lyric Recovery and Poetry Forum prizes and was semi-finalist in the 2005 contest of Margie, The American Journal of Poetry. In 2006, Rogue Scholars Press published Awakened: poems by Madeline Artenberg and poems by Iris N. Schwartz. A two-act play, The Old In-and-Out, based on her poetry and that of Karen Hildebrand, directed by Kat Georges, had a sold-out run in 2013. Mireya Perez's poetry searches for that "other voice" breaking through entrapment and oppression, the fragile markers to unearth more hidden voices. Her work appears in Revista del Hada, Caribbean Review, Americas Review, Diosas en Bronce: Anthology of Colombian WomenWriters, IRP Voices, among others. End
