SAN JOSE, Calif. - July 23, 2014 - PRLog -- .

San Jose, Calif., July 23, 2014 – After a highly successful event last year, the Silicon Valley’s original tech and music festival will return in September as an outdoor, multi-venue conference and street festival. Creative Convergence Silicon Valley—C2SV for short—will launch with a kickoff party on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and continue through Sunday, Sept. 14, culminating with the return of the SoFA Street Fair

C2SV will occupy Downtown San Jose’s South First Street, between William and San Carlos Streets, a portion of which will be closed to vehicles for the last two days of the festival. The art and design district known as SoFA is home to art galleries, music clubs and creative media agencies.

Tickets go on sale today, July 23 – at http://c2sv.com/.  Early bird ticket prices range from $25 to $199.

A wide range of technology visionaries, entrepreneurs, investors and thought leaders are scheduled to speak. The technology session venues include the San Jose Stage and the Zero1 Garage. Last year, Steve Wozniak, Robert Scoble, John McAfee and Nolan Bushnell were among the luminaries who participated.

This year’s festival will emphasize the growing role of women in technology. The music festival is headlined by legendary female-fronted power pop band The Breeders. Also on the bill are The Neptunas, Kelley Stoltz and Gateway Drugs. An electronic music/DJ stage and club performances will round out the mix. Speakers and musical acts are being added daily.

“The true genius of Silicon Valley is in its authenticity and lack of pretension, along with accessibility and inclusion that facilitates the propagation of ideas,” said Dan Pulcrano, Silicon Valley publisher and creator of the tech and music festival. “We’re keeping the agenda diverse and the prices low because we believe the future belongs to everyone.”

“C2SV is a grassroots, homegrown event celebrating our musical and technological creativity,” Pulcrano said. “We are staying close to the community and emphasizing ideas and substance.” Last year, C2SV contributed $22,000 to 28 locally based not-for-profit community organizations, ranging from local arts organizations to the East Palo Alto Kids Foundation and Valley Verde.

About C2SV

C2SV combines a wide-ranging Silicon Valley technology conference with a multi-venue music festival to activate downtown San Jose for four days in September. The event was launched in 2012 as a single-day, multi-venue music festival, the Silicon Valley Sound Experience. In 2013, with the addition of technology, the name was changed to Creative Convergence Silicon Valley, or C2SV, creating Silicon Valley’s first technology festival.
