From Friday 25th July to Monday 1st September, visitors will be able to experience the darkly entertaining talents of Ringmaster Walter and his wife, Madame Caroline, as well as be encouraged to have a go on The Wheel of Misfortune – if they dare! Ringmaster Walter will put on a real show for visitors with his mind-reading skills and singing ability that adds to his colourful repertoire. Once inside the Dungeon, experience the sensational spectacle of the discombobulating Hall of Mirrors and meet the amazing strongest man in the Execution Show who you might not want to get too close to during the 80-minute journey through 2,000 years of York’s dark history. Helen Douglas, General Manager at The York Dungeon comments: “We want to ensure that all our visitors experience an unforgettable day out and we’re certain they won’t be disappointed with Carnivàle. “The concept derives from Pablo Fanque’s Circus, which was an iconic attraction during the Victorian era when it toured England, Yorkshire in particular, so it’s great that we can bring elements of it back to the county. “We guarantee our summer sideshow will amaze and astound and like all our shows, it’s a truly interactive experience complete with tricks, juggling and singing. We do advise visitors to pay close attention to their watches though, we can’t guarantee Ringmaster Walter’s trustworthiness…” The York Dungeon is a unique visitor attraction that brings together an amazing cast of theatrical actors, special effects, stages and scenes in a truly unique and exciting walkthrough experience that you see, hear, touch, smell and feel. It's hilarious, fun and sometimes a bit scary!
