Overlake plans to target multifamily properties with new fund.
- Jul. 23, 2014 - BELLEVUE, Wash. --
Partners at Overlake Capital have targeted select real estate markets nationwide for the acquisition of single and multi-unit residential real estate. According to the investment firm's management, Overlake typically holds residential properties for less than two years; however, the company intends to hold these properties for a longer term. The managers declined to state just how long they intend to hold the properties, or to list specifically where properties are being purchased.
Paul Thacker, a partner at the firm, explained Overlake's strategy: "There are several US markets we really like right now, and we're confident that those markets will be healthy for the forseeable future. The security of creating value and holding assets in growing local economies is always attractive."
Thacker went on to say that Overlake uses a very strict set of criteria when selecting both local economies and individual properties to buy.
Investments in the new fund are limited to institutional and accredited investors.
