The three day event will be divided in four settings:
1. A two-day conference program to address different topics such as international industry trends, growth of the mining sector in Nicaragua, how to do business in Nicaragua, legal framework and incentives and main investment opportunities.
2. A matchmaking session to encourage networking between service providers, investors and businessmen of the sector.
3. An exhibit hall with over 50 stands of companies from the sector.
4. A site visit to successful foreign mining companies established in the country.
Throughout the years, Nicaragua’s mining has become one of the country’s most important sectors in terms of exports. According to the Central Bank of Nicaragua (BCN, for its acronym in Spanish), gold represented the country’s main export product reaching US$435.9 million in 2013, a 3 percent increase in comparison to 2012, despite decreasing international prices. Furthermore, in 2013 the country’s gold production increased by 38 percent, reaching 309,960 troy ounces.
