- July 22, 2014 - RALEIGH, N.C. -- WHAT:
Get thee to the Gaddy-Goodwin birthday party and bring the kids along. The Raleigh Little Theatre’s 2014-15 season marks the 25th anniversary of the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre. To celebrate the milestone, a "Happy Birthday, Gaddy-Goodwin"
family-friendly event is planned for Saturday, August 9th, recognizing alumni while introducing a new generation to theater. The event features costume games, music, and productions in the Gaddy-Goodwin and the Stephenson Amphitheatre. Kids can enjoy face painting, storytelling, cake and ice cream and creative reuse arts sponsored by the Scrap Exchange. Theatre tours will be offered and food trucks will be on site for the hungry.
The Gaddy-Goodwin Theatre has introduced thousands of young people to the arts, in both the youth series and the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre. Funded in part by the City of Raleigh based on recommendations by the Raleigh Arts Commission, the RLT invites the public and anyone who’s ever been in a show, worked on a show or been a part of the Youth Education Program, to join in the festivities.
