Free live webcast on Conversion disorder

July 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Audio Visual Archives - publisher of Psyche Visual, an online journal on mental health, hosts a free live webcast this Thursday from 8am to 9am (AEST*). This live webcast is about ‘conversion disorder’.

‘Conversion disorder is a mental health condition in which a person has blindness, paralysis, or other nervous system symptoms that cannot be explained by medical evaluation’ (source: Medlineplus Encyclopedia) .

The talk is presented by Kasia Kozlowska,Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, specialist inPaediatrics & Child Health. Prof. Kozlowska will be providing an update of the data from the CHW study with children and adolescents with conversion disorder. Implications for multimodal treatment of this patient group will be discussed. A case of a 14 year old boy with non-epileptic seizures who was not able to utilize a talking therapy will be presented.
