By: QRAA Today five years later, Fayyad is still playing an active role as an ambassador for the award, spreading a culture of excellence in the Jordanian educational sector. Utilizing her vast experience, Fayyad has also trained eight university students in the period 2010-2013 through the “Cooperative Teacher” program, which is affiliated with faculties of educational sciences at several Jordanian universities and entails that the Award's distinguished teachers train students studying to become educators. Sahar will continue to train new groups of students every year. To Further spread her knowledge , Sahar trained 27 kindergarten teachers in 2013 after attending an educational course organized in cooperation with the National Council for Family Affairs, Fayyad is still working with this program till this day. Distinguished teachers such as Fayyad reflect the (QRAE’s) true mission and objectives. With a mission that seeks to spread a culture of excellence in education, (QRAE) has organized several programs and initiatives, such as launching a distinguished educators club; created to utilize teacher’s efforts in enriching their society and the field of education. The club’s main activities in 2014 include a group iftar in Ramadan, the mobile exhibition, and “My Schoolbag” program. Commenting on the role of distinguished teachers in spreading a culture of excellence in education in Jordan, Ms. Lubna Touqan, Director of Queen Rania Award Association, said: “Stemming from the association’ “We are, however, confident that such concerted efforts will produce results and create inspirational stories and legacies for future generations,” This year; the Association received 1,017 applications for the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Distinguished Teachers and 167 applications for the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Distinguished School Counselors in its first cycle.
