NEWTOWN, Conn. - July 20, 2014 - PRLog -- NEWTOWN, Conn. – The contents of a gorgeous 4,000-square-foot home on Silver City Road in Newtown valued at over $500,000 – 10 rooms, all of them beautifully decorated with quality items purchased 4-5 years ago and ready for immediate use – will be sold at an on-site auction on Sunday, Aug. 3rd, starting at 1 p.m. Eastern time, by Tim’s, Inc. Auctions, based in Bristol, Conn.

“This is an exceptional opportunity for people to bid on items they need and can use right away,” said Tim Chapulis of Tim’s, Inc. Auctions. “It’s a blend of old and new but just about everything was purchased recently and incorporated into a truly beautiful home. This auction is only taking place because the home’s owner has accepted a position overseas and she can’t take it with her.”

The homeowner – Maria DelRoser Calvoverges – does research work into cancers of the blood, such as leukemia. Her new position will be in Spain, where she has roots. Ms. Calvoverges has a keen eye for fashion and décor, and the items being sold reflect her good taste. All five bedrooms and the other rooms in the house are marvelously appointed, in styles that are popular right now.

One item certain to get attention is a 2009 Cadillac SRX all-wheel drive SUV in immaculate condition and showing just 68,405 miles on the odometer. Also being sold are gold and silver coins, fine estate jewelry, indoor and outdoor furnishings, game room items, artwork, hand-made Persian carpets, household items, electronics equipment, children's toys and games and more.

The estate jewelry pieces will feature a Bvlgari gold and diamond bracelet with ancient coin at the center (Sicily Syracuse, circa 310-304 B.C.) appraised in 2005 for $11,500, an heirloom-quality 18kt gold lady’s pin from Tiffany in the original box, a collection of gold pins with precious stones fashioned into the shape of insects, 14kt and 18kt gold bracelets and necklaces, diamond dinner and engagement rings, precious stone rings (rubies, emeralds, etc.) and more.

Coins and currency will include a genuine $500 bill from the 1930s, approximately 11 gold coins (some of them British Sovereigns, circa 1800-1830), a 1978 1-oz. gold Krugerrand coin set in a large ornate gold holder for neckware, U.S. silver dollars and half dollars and other examples.

“When I say there is $10,000 worth of LEGO building blocks and sets in this sale, you can bet the actual figure is closer to $20,000,” Chapulis remarked. Other children’s items will include a basketball hoop, air hockey and ping pong tables, wooden train sets and a model train table, a Wii system with a charger for the controllers, bike helmets, sleds, Erector sets, games and more.

Electronics will feature Sony and Bose docking stations, a Beamz laser-based music learning device, a laptop computer and flat screen TVs. Also sold will be a crystal chandelier that was once owned by a member of the Rockettes of Radio City Music Hall fame, highly decorative lighting and floor lamps, Art Modern hanging light fixtures and fine decorative accessories.

Furniture will include a beautiful leather love seat with ottoman, a roll-top bamboo desk, an Art Modern-style dining room set with 12 chairs, Art Modern-style living room furniture in superb condition, a two-door one-drawer curio, matching bedroom sets, sofas that expand into beds, and a fabulous painted bedroom set with dresser and matching mirror, twin sleigh-style bed and desk.

Items for the home include a Craftsman LT2000 riding lawnmower in excellent running shape, a home back-up generator, teakwood and patio furniture, a Samsung front-load matching washer and dryer set, a pull-down wall map and projection screen, a dehumidifier, some state-of-the-art kitchen counter appliances, a Sodastream system, glassware, pots and pans and baking utensils.

“Tell your friends,” Tim Chapulis urged. “Bring them along with your family, your truck, some packing materials and be ready to take it home. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to own beautiful, ready-to-use merchandise that is only available due to a relocation.” Internet bidding will be facilitated by LiveAuctioneers.com and Invaluable.com, for those unable to attend live.

Bidders may register to bid through the Tim’s, Inc. Auctions website, at www.timsauctions.com, or through LiveAuctioneers.com. Phone and absentee bids will also be accepted. A buyer’s premium will be applied to all purchases. No credit card or PayPal payments will be accepted. See Tim’s website for terms and conditions.

Every participating bidder is asked to make a donation of $10 (suggested, never mandatory) to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in memory of Peter W. Chapulis, Tim’s late father and himself a onetime successful auctioneer. “We've raised more than $67,265 to date so far this year for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of my father,” Tim said.

Tim’s, Inc. Auctions is celebrating 35 years in the auction business (1979-2014).
