KHDA (Knowledge & Human Development Authority) releases this year's statistics in six friendly infographics report. Labeled as "Private Schools in Dubai", "Private MOE Curriculum Schools", "US Curriculum Schools", "UK Curriculum Schools", "Indian Curriculum Schools" and "IB Curriculum Schools". Established by Decision 38 of The Executive Council of the Government of Dubai in 2007, the Dubai School Inspection Bureau (DSIB) of KHDA provides comprehensive information on the standard of private school education in Dubai, which helps to inform improvement planning at school and policy level. The DSIB performs qualified tests (called "inspections")
to assess and collect data from participant schools in order to report accurate and details info to Dubai government and KHDA. Reports as this one discussed here are announced to the public in friendly graphical forms (infographics)
as well as detailed reports to help parents with critical information they need for their children education. This is in addition to a comprehensive search & filter tool on KHDA website for any kind of schools, locations, pricing, ratings and curriculums they need. About Dubai School Inspection Bureau DSIB and quality standard assessment are toward improving the attainment of students against international assessments, in line with the "National Agenda" announced at the beginning of 2014 by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid. It's been another year for Dubai private schools to work hard toward enhancements and adaptation of KHDA standards. KHDA fees and performance The KHDA received and processed applications from 135 schools requesting a raise in tuition fees. The strategy in KHDA is to allow only high performing schools to increase their fees (outstanding rating). Lesser performing schools are allowed a smaller increase in their fees structure and so on. “In line with the fee framework and the educational cost index (ECI) issued by Dubai Statistics Centre in January, the fee increases will reach a maximum of 3.48 per cent for ‘Outstanding’
schools, 2.61 per cent for ‘Good’ schools, and 1.74 per cent for those in the ‘Acceptable’

category,” said Mohammad Darwish, Chief of Regulations and Permits Commission at KHDA. In late 2013, the KHDA reported: "The proportion of students attending good and outstanding schools in Dubai has risen from 30% to 49%, an increase of 19 percentage points since 2008, according to the latest school inspection results released by Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). A total of 108,098 children are now enrolled at these schools, accounting for almost half of Dubai’s private school students." Improvements in Dubai private schools Reports and infographics show a noticeable improvements in private school performance. "Teaching for effective learning" scores increased to "outstanding"
from 0% in 2008-2009 to 14% in 2013-2014. On the other hand, "Learning skills" scores increased to " outstanding " from 7% in 2008-2009 to 14% in 2013-2014. Other quality scores among schools also witnessed increases like leadership, assessment, self-evaluation, and partnerships with the community and parents. “In the past five years we’ve seen a huge increase in the number of students attending good and outstanding schools,” said DSIB chief Jameela Al Muhairi. “We’ve witnessed improvements within the schools, which shows education professionals are taking our recommendations seriously. The quality of teaching, learning and assessment remains high across the board, particularly in UK and IB curriculum schools.” Dar Al Marefa, one example Dar Al Marefa is an IB school in Mirdif, Dubai.
