ATLANTA - July 18, 2014 - PRLog -- In accordance with the heightened interest in Battle Rap, MC WAR The Official Sport of Rap Battling will host the New World Order 2 event Keith Murray Vs Fredro Starr, down in Atlanta, GA, September 28th, 2014.

The demand for Battle Rap has made a tremendous turnaround in recent years, with over 1.5 billion YouTube searches, televised shows on Fuse Network, INDEMAND and an ongoing segment featured on the top music countdown show; BET's 106 & Park to name a few. For the first time, MC WAR will exhibit their 'Super Star bracket' (equivalent to the Heavy Weight class in boxing) with additional brackets including 'Street Certified' (equivalent to Middle Weight) and Underground (equivalent to Light Weight) at this event.

This anticipated event will be held at The Atrium, one of Atlanta’s most prolific spaces. This first ever battle between the two legendary rappers will showcase their rap skills in the MC WAR's Super Star bracket of the battle. Never before has there been a professional rap battle between two renowned lyricists of this stature. This event not only will go down in the books as a night to remember, but will also make Hip-Hop history in the city of Atlanta.

Press Conference

A press conference featuring both Fredro Starr and Keith Murray will be held on Monday July 28th at 1:00pm, at The Hit Factory in New York City. This will be the first and only time that Keith Murray and Fredro Starr will be in the same venue to answer any and all questions before the battle. MC WAR will also showcase a one round battle between upcoming battle rappers,  Lotta Zay & Reggie P, proving that MC WAR's format of rap battling sets the standard for how this sport should be done.

About Fredro Starr

Rapper Fredro Starr has a lot on his plate. The Queens, NY, native balances both an acting and a music career. Starr began his rapping career when he founded the hardcore rap/hip hop group Onyx in 1991 with rap compatriots Sticky Fingaz and Sonee Seeza. The group's first album (Bacdafucup, 1993, UNI/Def Jam Records) went platinum, but since the breakup of Onyx after their 1998 album, Shut 'Em Down (Def Jam), Starr (born Fredro Scruggs) ventured out on his own to start his solo career.

Starr has also built a solid acting resumé, starring in numerous television shows and several movies. He starred in the 2000 Paramount/MTV film Save the Last Dance and appeared as Brandy's love interest Quentin on the WB's television show Moesha. He has also had roles in NYPD Blue and such films as Light It Up, Spike Lee's Clockers, and HBO's Strapped. Starr's solo rap debut, Firestarr released in January of 2001. On the track "Soldierz," Starr teamed up with Onyx partner Sticky Fingaz. One of Starr's cuts, "Theme From Save the Last Dance," is featured on the movie's soundtrack song, "Shining Through." In addition, Starr also runs his multi-faceted entertainment entity, OPM (Other People's Money).

About Keith Murray

Keith Murray is an American rapper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapping) and a member of the hip hop trio Def Squad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Def_Squad), which includes fellow rappers Redman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redman_(rapper) and Erick Sermon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erick_Sermon).  Murray first hooked up with Erick Sermon (of EPMD) in 1994. The two worked together to produce Murray's debut single, "The Most Beautifullest Thing in This World," and the song became a hit by the end of the year. After an appearance on Sermon's album, Double or Nothing, Murray released his first album in 1995, and titled it after his hit single. The album was certified gold, and Murray delivered his second set near the end of 1996. It's a Beautiful Thing followed in 1999. His next album, He's Keith Murray, appeared in 2003 on Def Jam, but he was immediately kicked off the label after he allegedly choked a Def Jam employee. Murray moved to Koch in 2007 for his acclaimed Rap-Murr-Phobia and followed up with Intellectual Violence the following year.
