American College of Surgeons Partners with AVF Consulting

AVF Consulting to Provide Implementation, Support of Financial Management Software

BALTIMORE - July 21, 2014 - PRLog -- The American College of Surgeons (ACS) has selected AVF Consulting to implement and support Serenic Navigator, financial management software designed to help the organization increase operational efficiencies and maximize its resources.

With more than 79,000 members, ACS is the largest organization of surgeons in the world and is dedicated to improving the care of the surgical patient and to safeguarding standards of care in an optimal and ethical practice environment.

“We wanted to not only replace our outdated technology, but also find a system that was flexible and scalable to meet both our current and future business needs with fully-featured embedded functionality,” said Julie Bodnar, ACS Financial Systems Manager.

During a thorough and systematic search for new back office accounting software, ACS was identifying solutions that would help improve the organization’s financial processes and information, including integration with operations or supporting systems and enhanced and timely financial reporting capabilities.

Specifically, ACS needed a business system solution that would enable centralization of data from external systems to provide the organization with access to "one set of numbers" to better manage their business and facilitate decision-making. Other key objectives included management of documents in a central repository and enhanced workflow capabilities to improve the flow of information.

With these parameters in place, ACS selected AVF Consulting due to its long history of working with nonprofits and associations, and its technical expertise in implementing and supporting Serenic Navigator, a Microsoft Dynamics NAV-based system that offers robust functionality and design to nonprofits that enhances mission focus.

“We knew we needed a solution sophisticated enough to improve our processes today and flexible enough to grow with us into the future. At the same time, a system and an implementation partner who understands the not-for-profit environment was very important to us. We feel we found that combination in Navigator and AVF,” said Samantha Katzbeck, ACS Controller.

In advance of selecting AVF Consulting, ACS observed multiple demonstrations, met with the company leadership and staff and consulted with AVF clients, the American Urological Association, the premier professional association for the advancement of urologic patient care, and the American Psychological Association, the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States.

“AVF Consulting is a national leader in consulting and supporting financial management software systems for nonprofits and associations,” AVF Consulting President and CEO Andrew Fass said. “We are proud to partner with ACS as it moves to the next level of financial management and accounting technology and works towards enhancing its operations that support the vital mission of improving care for America’s surgical patients.
