LONDON - July 18, 2014 - PRLog -- C&M Travel Salary Index: Travel Jobs Market Heats Up For Summer

C&M Travel Recruitment and Chisholm & Moore Executive Recruitment’s Travel Salary Index – June 2014

·         Average travel salaries reach highest level in 14 months

·         London sees strong salary growth

·         Number of new job vacancies and candidate registrations both also on the rise

Summer begins strongly for travel recruitment

After a 5.70 per cent rise in salaries in May, the travel recruitment market has continued its impressive start to the summer by seeing average wages increase by 0.36 per cent last month. The typical salary for a new role in the travel industry now stands at £25,304, which is up 3.45 per cent from last June, according to the latest Travel Salary Index from C&M Travel Recruitment (http://www.candm.co.uk/) and Chisholm & Moore Executive Recruitment, which surveyed all new roles registered at the companies during the month.

“Travel salaries have now risen in five of the first six months of the year, which is an impressive statistic for any industry,” said Barbara Kolosinska, sales director at C&M Travel Recruitment (http://www.candm.co.uk/) and Chisholm & Moore Executive Recruitment.

“Average wages for new travel jobs are now at their highest point since April 2013 and have actually increased by more than £1,250 since the start of the year.

“Carrying on from what we saw in May, there was another strong rise in salaries for standard travel roles last month with roles in and around London seeing the highest monthly rise, which certainly contributed to the overall increase. Whereas, the executive jobs market actually saw a fall in salaries in June, although the number of available roles remained consistent.”

Healthy rise in new candidates

June also saw a rise in the number of candidates stating their interest in finding a new job in travel, with registrations hitting their highest level for the past three months, while the number of new roles being made available also rose to levels last seen at the beginning of the year.

“Despite the distractions of the World Cup, Wimbledon and the occasional sunny day, we were delighted to see that many travel candidates still took the time to concentrate on their career and seek out a new role“, said Ms Kolosinska.

“And, luckily for them, more travel jobs were made available last month than at any point since January – meaning plenty of new opportunities are now ready for the taking.”
