“We are delighted at the opportunity to perform and spread the message of our organization.”
Alongside preparing for their ten city tour, the organization has been busy all summer performing in fundraiser shows throughout the city to help support the tour efforts and organization's mission of launching a mobile food pantry.
“The food pantry will be launching this fall and were really excited to give back.” said Licorish.
The organization will perform a number from their new fundraiser show, “Black Broadway” that will open July 27 in downtown Indianapolis, on WHMB-TV Channel 40 network show hosted by Vaughn. The cast will also end the segment by performing a song from Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple which opens August 1 in Indianapolis.
The Cupboard Inc. Presents: Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple ended its run in February with 7 sold out shows at the Athenaeum Theater in downtown Indianapolis.
“When we ended the show this past winter, I knew that was just the beginning and this show must go on the road because there is too much talent in the cast to go unnoticed.” said Licorish.
The organization is looking forward to the tour and also the release of their next theater season schedule to be released later this year.
