Follow on Google News | A New Middle Grade Novel, "Upheavals At Cuma," Is Published As Both An Ebook And In PrintThe story is set in modern-day Cuma, Italy, site of an ancient town where a sibyl was said to foretell the future.
Author and resident, Joan Wright Mularz, announced today the publication of the first book in a series of E.T. Madigan mysteries. Joan drew inspiration for this story "Upheavals at Cuma," while living in Italy and watching her young children have adventures amongst ancient ruins. The sibyl's cave and its eerily intimidating atmosphere was a favorite haunt and the perfect place to fire up young imaginations. In this first adventure, twelve-year- Ellen's curiosity is heightened by a series of disturbing events that all seem to be connected to a pet collar she obtains from a local farmer. While coming to terms with her paranormal gift, she is confronted with cryptic messages, attempted murder and sybilline ghosts and must use her wits to solve two mysterious long-ago deaths. In the process, she must convince her family, her newfound Italian friends and even NATO to help her set things in motion. Good thing, because these deaths have international repercussions! Joan Wright Mularz has lived in three countries and has traveled to 5 continents. She loves learning languages and exploring new places. Her experiences as a parent and a teacher, both here and abroad, have influenced Joan to write for young people.
