Denali Group Announces Exclusive Electric and Gas Utility Industry Study

Procurement 2020 – Best Practices & Future Trends in Utility Procurement

PRLog - Jul. 17, 2014 - JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Denali Group is conducting a broad-based, best practice study amongst electric and gas utility procurement organizations to gain a better understanding of the industry's procurement practices, future trends, and collective challenges. This study is complimentary in nature to the annual UPMG (Utility Purchasing Management Group) supply chain benchmarking effort, as it is focused on procurement practices in this dynamic sector.

“This comprehensive study will allow us to dive deeper into the utility industry's challenges and best practices, as well as future trends to see what utility procurement might look like in the next decade and beyond,” said Don Dougherty, Managing Partner for Denali Group. “We're recruiting a diverse group of senior procurement executives from the utility sector to get their unique perspectives and insights – to take the pulse of this dynamic industry.”

Three key areas of procurement will be, including Value Creation, Operational Excellence, and Strategies for Growth. Denali Group is inviting procurement executives from utilities to participate in this study. Qualitative data regarding best practices, trends, and other strategic insights will be gathered and shared with participants.

Already registered to participate in the study include major utilities, such as Duke Energy, Pacific Gas & Electric, SCE, Integrys, Ameren, SCE, Salt River Project, AES, and several others. “Responses from key industry executives will help shape our findings and will be kept strictly confidential,” continued Dougherty. “Participants in this study will receive a confidential top-line report of the findings customized to show how they compare against industry peers and leaders, as well as where there are gaps and opportunities for improvement.”
