PRLog - Jul. 17, 2014 - THORNTON, Colo. -- The stars will align when 25 female leaders in the pet industry take to the stage for the annual Pet Industry Woman of the Year Award competition in Portland, Oregon, in August.
Yvonne DiVita, co-founder of BlogPaws, has been named as a finalist in the Rising Star category. The competition embraces five categories: Advocate, Corporate, Entrepreneur, Rising Star, and Solopreneur. The winner of each category and the overall Pet Industry Woman of the Year for 2014 will be announced August 15th at the Women in the Pet Industry Conference and Awards Show.
As the leader of BlogPaws, DiVita oversees the entire team so they have the tools and support needed to focus on attracting, supporting, and recognizing the most successful group of social media influencers anywhere, but especially in the pet space. Through year round education/community programs, recognition programs, and the popular BlogPaws yearly conference, DiVita guides her team in accomplishing goals. This, in turn, creates high impact programs for advertisers focused on reaching pet parents.
“I am thrilled to be a finalist and honored to be in such an amazing group of accomplished women. Shawna inspires me, daily, with her energy, her focus on success, and her desire to showcase talented women in the pet industry,” DiVita shared. “The women who are part of WIPIN prove, beyond any shadow of a doubt that the pet industry is thriving and that women are at the core of its ever-expanding growth.”
DiVita will make history in the pet industry by being the first woman at the helm of a pet blogging company to grace the stage as a finalist for this coveted honor. She sat down for a face-to-face interview with Pet World Insider at the recent BlogPaws Conference in May on Lake Las Vegas.
“The Pet Industry Women of the Year Awards were designed to recognize the amazing females who dedicate their time and talents to improving the lives of all pets – dogs, cats, birds, fish, horses and exotics – and their parents,” said Shawna Schuh, president of WIPIN. “The Awards are a celebration of women who have devoted their lives to the pet industry and shine as beacons of women helping women and pets with passion. Yvonne DiVita is a perfect example!”
