Natural Childbirth Expert and Midwife, Lorie Bounds, Joins Isis Women’s Health Care in July, 2014

ATLANTA - July 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Lorie Bounds, certified nurse midwife and natural childbirth specialist, has been a women’s health practitioner for over 14 years. She is now accepting patients to the ISIS Women’s Health Care Alpharetta location.

Bounds began her career practicing as a nurse and subsequently as a certified nurse midwife in Indiana. Her recent background working with the Amish community has helped to develop her natural childbirth skills and also stretch her depth of knowledge. While now she will specialize in natural labor methods, Bounds is passionate about  helping women to feel empowered by their birth experiences whether medicated or unmedicated.

“I believe in treating women of all different backgrounds and cultures with respect, compassion, and dignity,” Bounds says. “I hope that my hospital and home visit experience, educational background, and commitment to families are some of the reasons why a woman would allow me to care for her.

In addition to obstetrical services, Bounds will facilitate water births, provide comprehensive physical examinations for gynecological, antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum clients.

“We are fortunate to have a midwife with her passion and skill join our staff,” says Dr. Hughan Frederick, Medical Director of ISIS Women’s Health Care. “I know our current and new patients alike will appreciate her as well.”

Bounds completed her Master’s in Nursing Midwifery clinical rotation primarily at Benton-Harbor InterCare and Lakeland Regional in St. Joseph, MI. She then went on to complete her gynecology portion with River Oaks OB/GYN in Elkhart, IN.

Bounds is new to the metro Atlanta area and is looking forward to discovering all that the city has to offer.
