DTI Forensics Expert to Speak at San Diego ESI Forum MCLE

The event, sponsored by the San Diego ESI Forum (http://sandiegoesiforum.publishpath.com/), will take place Thursday, July 24, 2014, from noon to 1 p.m. in Jury Assembly Room 230, U.S. Courthouse Annex, 333 West Broadway, San Diego, California.

The panel of experts will include Mitchell D. Dembin, U.S. magistrate judge, who will serve as moderator; Sabrina Feve, assistant U.S. attorney and cybercrime coordinator for the USAO; and Justine Phillips, attorney with Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, LLP.

The number of civil and criminal cases involving computer forensics is rapidly growing. Forensic investigators are able to identify relevant information such as deleted logs and registry information in personal computers, mobile devices, network servers and network devices. Forensic investigators work to identify and document unauthorized access or intrusions in cases involving employment issues, harassment, discrimination, fraud, identity theft, theft of intellectual property and illegal wiretapping. The panel session will provide legal professionals with practical information on the role of a computer forensics professional and the methods and tools available to preserve, collect and analyze hidden, deleted and obscure data in such cases.

The San Diego Chapter of the Federal Bar Association certifies that the State Bar of California has approved this activity for MCLE credit in the amount of 1.0 hour. The San Diego Chapter is a State Bar of California MCLE-approved provider.
