Tony Hawk to be at ShakeAway Opening - the Sweetest Event this Summer

SAN DIEGO - July 15, 2014 - PRLog -- La Jolla and Pacific Beach residents can expect a cold front in July, but it’s not from the weather.ShakeAway (http://www.shakeaway.com), the world’s largest Milkshake bar company and the original re-inventor of milkshakes, will be opening two new locations in La Jolla on July 18, 2014 and Pacific Beach on July 19, 2014.

Professional skateboarder and San Diego native Tony Hawk will be at ShakeAway’s soft opening in La Jolla on Friday, July 18, 2014, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hawk will be naming an official milkshake, with proceeds donated to theTony Hawk Foundation (http://tonyhawkfoundation.org/),a nonprofit that helps build skateparks in low income areas. The Tony Hawk Foundation’s mission is to seek to foster lasting improvements in society, with an emphasis on supporting and empowering youth. ShakeAway’s goal is to raise a minimum of $15,000.

Guests will have the opportunity to enter the Name Your Shake contest, where the lucky winner will get to name their favorite concoction created from 180 flavors and millions of combinations to choose from. The winning shake, which will be chosen based on creativity, will remain on the menu for 60 days. The winner will also receive a store gift card.

ShakeAway will be hosting a soft opening in La Jolla on Friday, July 18, 2014 and a grand opening event in Pacific Beach on Saturday, July 19, 2014. The first 50 guests will receive a free milkshake and the opportunity to win a $1,000 giveaway. The schedule for each event is as follows:

11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Street artist exhibit

5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Pro skater skateboard showcase featuring Kyle Berard, Christian Sereika, Chris Joslin and Nick Palmquist

*Free skateboard giveaway autographed by pro skateboarders
