TOLEDO, Ohio - July 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Members of the Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters (IKORCC) Local 351 recently volunteered their time and talents to build a wheelchair ramp for a Toledo community member.

After undergoing a routine surgery, Carrie Repass’ son Chad was left paralyzed. No longer able to climb stairs, Chad needed a ramp to accommodate his wheelchair.

Eight carpenters from Local 351 responded promptly after receiving a request from Repass to build a wheelchair ramp on the outside of her home. In addition to constructing the ramp, the carpenters drew the blueprints and assisted Repass in obtaining permits for the ramp. The project was completed during the first week of July.

“It’s great doing these projects and helping these kids out,” said Dan Morey, IKORCC Representative. “It’s unfortunate that Chad is in a wheelchair, but he sure was smiling after making it up the ramp!”

Repass was grateful to the IKORCC for making her home wheel accessible for Chad. “Thank you so much for what you did for my son and me,” said Carrie Repass after proudly watching her son push himself up the ramp for the first time.
