HGA Hires Alyssa Scholz As Director Of Interior Design In California

July 14, 2014 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES—July 14, 2014—HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has hired Alyssa Scholz, IIDA, as principal and director of interior design in California. She will build the firm’s interior design services across the healthcare, higher education and public/corporate practice groups for the Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento offices.

“Alyssa has a strong understanding of how to deliver creative design solutions for our clients,” said James Matson, AIA, vice president and principal in the Los Angeles office. “She collaborates with clients to develop lean, operationally efficient and healthy workplace interiors that support their business goals. Her broad background across industries will prove beneficial as we continue to build our design practice throughout California.”

Scholz has more than 20 years of interior design experience nationally. Her expertise includes user experience design and research, design visioning, full-service interior design and FF&E implementation as well as sustainable strategies.

“I look at a spectrum of human experiences—personal, professional, community, social and cultural—to identify user needs and create interior environments that have a positive impact on an individual's well-being and productivity,” Scholz said.

Before joining HGA, she was director of environments and interior design with Taylor in Los Angeles. Previously, she held design leadership roles with Gensler and Perkins + Will.

Scholz has a bachelor of science in design from Arizona State University. She is a member of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), and associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She is also a board member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo.
