Jaime Partners Collaborates With Chef Chad White To Bring Baja Gastro-Influenced Eatery To San Diego

July 14, 2014 - PRLog -- San Diego, CA – (July 14, 2014) – Jaime Partners, the San Diego-based leading service provider for program, project and construction management services, is announcing the official opening date of the highly anticipated Común Kitchen and Tavern. With a soft opening in late July 2014, Común is the first solo project of renowned Baja Chef Chad White, located at 935 J Street in the East Village of Downtown San Diego.

Jaime Partners has played a large role in the completion of Común Kitchen and Tavern, and has been involved since the location was selected. As the Owner’s Representatives, Jaime Partners has managed the planning, design, branding, construction and close out of the project. Jaime Partners also contributed to the lease negotiations and overall support of the project. Rodolfo Farber and Alfredo Jaime of Jaime Partners have been working alongside owner, Chef Chad White, and partners Shane Brennan and Damien Farrell.

“It’s a very interesting collaborative approach, unlike any of our projects in the past,” says, Alfredo Jaime, Co-Founder and Partner of Jaime Partners. “We used regional artists for the design concepts and incorporated Baja-influenced custom-designed furniture. Many people bring in high-end, high-cost pieces, but we wanted to go in a different direction with this project. We have opened our frontier to south-of-the-border talent, and are one of the first to bring that to San Diego’s restaurant industry.“

Best known for his role as the Executive Chef of Sea Rocket Bistro in North Park and pop-up restaurant Plancha Baja Med, Chef Chad White is sticking to what he knows best. Featuring a Baja Gastro-influenced cuisine, Común’s menu will be constantly changing- influenced not only by what’s in season, but also by what is local and sustainable. The restaurant will showcase White’s talent in the kitchen five nights a week, drawing inspiration from a glass-paneled walk-in refrigerator and open kitchen with a 10-seat counter right out front. Featuring self-serve bar taps and a large urban patio facing Downtown’s J Street, Común is quickly set to become the community watering hole of the East Village area.

Común Kitchen and Tavern is located at 935 J Street. A soft opening to celebrate the completion is scheduled for late July 2014.
