Commercial Real Estate Community Supports the March of Dimes at 2014 Real Estate Award Reception

CBRE's Schubert Honored, $128,000 Raised at Annual Industry Event

PRLog - Jul. 11, 2014 - More than 150 commercial real estate professionals recently turned out to support the fight for healthy babies and to honor Geoffrey L. Schubert, CBRE's senior vice-president, during the March of Dimes New Jersey Chapter's (http://www.marchofdimes.com/newjersey/) 2014 Real Estate Award Reception and Pynes Putting Challenge. This year's event took place at the United States Golf Association (USGA) headquarters in Far Hills and raised more than $128,000.

The Real Estate Award Reception, which has been recognizing industry leaders since 2000, provides a forum for the March of Dimes to raise awareness about its mission of preventing prematurity, birth defects and infant mortality. The event evolved in 2011 from a breakfast into a golf challenge and cocktail reception that brings together an impressive group of professionals who are committed to the organization's efforts to improve and protect maternal and infant health.

"Kudos to the real estate industry for once again embracing the March of Dimes," said event chair Robert Martie, executive vice-president of Colliers International NJ LLC. "Funds raised from this year's event will make a tangible difference in the lives of countless area families. Geoff is a strong supporter of the March of Dimes' invaluable work and I can't think of anyone more deserving of this year's honor."

A 48-year real estate industry veteran, Schubert specializes in office buildings and development. Since 1995 he has been involved in leasing more than six million square feet of office space. Active in numerous professional and non-profit organizations, he served as a member of the Real Estate Award Reception and Pynes Putting Challenge Planning Committee, and is chairman of the March of Dimes' new Signature Chef Gourmet Gala Planning Committee.

Erik Sletteland of Structure Tone Inc. has served as chair of the Pynes Putting Challenge, which he has done since his idea became a reality in 2012. The playoffs culminated on the afternoon of the Real Estate Award Reception with a final match at the prestigious Pynes Putting Course, a 16,000-square-foot nine-hole putting green located behind the USGA Museum.

The 2014 winning team of Harrison Russell and Brendan McBride with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) received a framed proclamation commemorating their win signed by Arnold Palmer; two tickets for the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay golf club in University Place, Washington, compliments of the USGA; and lodging courtesy of Wyndham Worldwide, including airfare. Additionally, NGKF will have its name engraved on the "Pynes Cup" trophy. Russell and McBride will hold the trophy and have bragging rights for one year until they either successfully defend their title in 2015 or relinquish it to a competitor.
