SHREWSBURY, Mass. - July 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Here at SHARC, we encourage all to become active and to stay active, especially young adults. Summer is here, and that means no school, which means no school sports or regular conditioning. Although it is important to relax over the summer and take advantage of the sunny days and free time, it is also very important to remain active during the “off season.” Luckily, at SHARC, we offer programs that are designed to keep young adults conditioned and healthy during their summer vacation! http://www.shrewsburyclub.com/fitness-youth

Varsity Academy is SHARC’s program that is geared towards developing a strong athletic foundation, which focuses on improving the athlete as a whole, rather than just specific skills. Varsity Academy can help improve flexibility, movement, muscle development, and control. This program is also made to help prevent injuries in athletes, which is the number one concern when it comes to sports.

By jumping into a JV or Varsity sport at the end of the summer without any prior conditioning, athletes run a great risk of injuring themselves. Varsity Academy can lower the risk of injury, and can also provide young athletes with a healthy competitive mindset. Here at SHARC we put a great emphasis on the key to fitness success: teamwork and character building.

Even if your child is not a competitive athlete, we also offer a YouthFit program here at SHARC, which builds the same fitness foundation for kids. This is a great opportunity for your children to be educated and most importantly excited bout fitness at a young age.

SHARC is also offering “It’s a Girl Thing”, a program designed for girls ages 9-14 that focuses on low impact dance warm-ups followed by strength and core conditioning exercises. This program improves flexibility, motor skills, self-confidence, and can help reduce anxiety, depression, and tension. Through this program we promote a positive self-image for young girls, while also providing them with a fun, active environment.

Whether your child is a football player or a dancer, there is a place for them at SHARC this summer! You can never be too careful when it comes to your child’s physical safety and well-being, even if they are very active on their own. By enrolling your child in any of SHARC’s fitness programs over the summer, you are providing them with a fun, healthy, environment, and you are also preparing them for any sports that might be coming up this fall. These programs are also a great way for your child to meet some new friends with similar interests, and to learn about teamwork and self-confidence.

Don’t wait for the fall to get your child into an active routine, start this summer with SHARC! For more information about our youth programs visit: http://www.shrewsburyclub.com/fitness-youth or give us a call at 508-845-1000
