The science behind the Moana products is truly fascinating, which is the main reasons for its success and the quick impact it has made within the UK beauty industry. With thanks to New Zealand’s biodiverse, unique marine life scientists discovered that a form of red seaweed native to their shores that has uniquely moisturising properties for the skin. Not only that, within the cells of the seaweed are glycans which so closely resemble human glycans that they are able to activate human ones and re-code cell messages.

The reason this research was so vital is that it’s the breakdown of these glycans within human cells that leads to the loss of collagen within the skin, the vital part to it looking youthful and healthy. The glycans are responsible for sending the message to other cells to produce more collagen, and these diminish as we age. Replacing lost glycans means these message transmitters are able to work again, hence the return to more youthful-looking skin.

That, combined with how deeply restorative the red seaweed extract is means the glycans are able to penetrate the skin’s epidermis and take effect. Not only does the science speak for itself the products use gentle and environmentally-friendly natural and organic ingredients, making these products wonderfully kind to the skin and to the planet.

Planet Organic has been suitably impressed by the Moana skincare range and are certain their customer base will be too.
