The Cupboard Inc. Presents: Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple will perform at Nuvo Block Party

INDIANAPOLIS - July 10, 2014 - PRLog -- The Cupboard Inc. Presents: Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple is just getting started after ending its run this past winter! The organization and its’ rendition of the hit Broadway production has been nominated by Nuvo Newspaper in the category of Best Stage Production of the year.

The winner of the category will be announced on July 23 in Nuvo’s Best of Indy Reader’s Choice annual issue were all nominees and honorees will be displayed in the issue.

Cast members from the production will also perform an opening number from the show at the Best of Indy Block Party on July 26 located in downtown Indianapolis on Georgia St. at 3:30 pm.

“We are very excited about the nomination and also the invitation to perform in the Best of Indy Block Party.” said Joyce Licorish, president of The Cupboard Inc. and director of The Color Purple.

The nomination and invitation to perform comes at no better time as the cast is currently preparing for a ten city tour of the production.

“The Color Purple is back by popular demand and we are planning to reopen the show August 1 in Indianapolis.” said Licorish, who also said, “This show is too good to not go on the road!”
