Trafford Centre, Manchester - Gilding And Specialist Decoration Stands The Test Of Time

By: Hankinson Painting Group

July 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Anybody visiting the Trafford Centre, Manchester today will be greeted with and will enjoy first class decoration both internally and externally.

Hankinson Painting Group were heavily involved in all initial decorative works when the Centre was first built and opened its doors in 1998.

It is now 11 years since we completed the gilding and decorative works during a major refurbishment. The fact it still looks as fresh today as it did when first completed is testament to the quality of workmanship by Hankinson Gilder and Decorators.

The works carried out in 2003 internally included at “The Place” which is a fine example where the Trompe L’oeil technique was used to create a Chinese red marble effect. Gold leaf was also applied by Hankinson Gilders to columns and features.

Externally work was carried out on statues to create a marble effect and gild in gold leaf to stand up to all weather conditions.  Part of this work was completed on the floor with final touch ups carried out once the statues were in position.
