VENICE, Calif. - July 10, 2014 - PRLog -- SeekRetreat.com launched booking and ticketing last week, moving them closer to becoming the Travelocity of the yoga world.

“I’m very excited that we are now able to offer yoga retreats to the world at large,” said Seek Retreat CEO and Co-Founder, Alex McAfee. “I hope we can help make paying for retreats, and getting paid for retreats, easy for instructors and travelers in the way that Airbnb did for renting houses. This is really a game changer for this industry.”

Seek Retreat’s new booking system allows travelers to pay for retreats in the traditional way—with a deposit and a final payment. They have taken it a step further by allowing up to three payments for a retreat. This is all automated through their proprietary system.

“We want to make paying for a $3,000 retreat approachable, by breaking down payments into digestible amounts,” said McAfee. “We know many instructors that don’t have the time or staff to track down multiple payments from 25 people. Our new booking system takes care of this for them.”

Founded in 2012 by McAfee and John Mullin, Seek Retreat has acted as the first modern marketplace allowing travelers to find yoga retreats with celebrity yoga instructors at top yoga resorts.  Seek Retreat has acted as a portal for instructors to market their destination retreats, workshops and teacher trainings to the world at large.  Seek Retreat’s roster has included such visionaries as Elena Brower, Erica Jago and Micheline Berry.

The first event available to book directly on Seek Retreat is the 6th annual Qoya retreat to Blue Spirit Costa Rica with instructor Rochelle Schieck.

“For me, I want my clients who sign up for my Qoya retreat to Costa Rica to have one of the most incredible times of their lives,” said Schieck, “I love Seek Retreat because their site has a great aesthetic, is intuitive to use, and their booking system makes it easier more people to take the leap and make a decision to invest in themselves, their health and their happiness.”

Seek Retreat tested their system last year with the Rock Your Bliss Retreat to Sayulita, Mexico with Jacki Carr and Mary Beth Larue-Aporta, successfully selling out the event.

“When planning a yoga retreat, you really want to be able to focus on your travel plans and your attendees,” said Jacki Carr. “The last thing on my mind was booking logistics and marketing.  It is a dream to work with Seek Retreat and really be able to trust them in owning these areas so we can focus on the retreat itself!”

Seek Retreat has had over 200 retreats worth an estimated $9 million listed on their site since launching on February 14th, 2013. Their clients include YogaWorks, The Yoga Getaways, Eoin Finn’s Blissology, Michael Franti’s Soulshine, and Lumeria Maui.
