Wastewater Recovery System
- Jul. 10, 2014 - BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. --
has completed the construction of a state-of-the-
art wastewater treatment plant that is capable of recovering and recycling as much as 84-million gallons of water per year. The wastewater treatment plant was constructed for a prestigious luxury US auto manufacturer, and is designed to treat 300 gallons of water per minute (gpm) and remain in operation 24/7. With the integrated water reclaim/recycling system, the high-tech wastewater recovery system is estimated to pay for itself in under a year.
More than $1.6 million in electronic controls instrumentation were integrated into the new wastewater treatment plant, which includes a state-of-the-
art high-purity water
system. The cutting edge design of the high purity water system produces low conductivity and low silica water at flow rates of 225 gallons per minute (gpm). In addition, the new wastewater treatment plant can rapidly treat up to 200,000 gallons of highly acidic “boil out”, which is generated during bi-annual plant shutdowns.
When working to develop the new wastewater treatment system, WaterProfessionals®
proposed the development of an integrated wastewater recycling and reclaim system to save the luxury automobile manufacturer on the cost of purchased water. WaterProfessionals®
designed and constructed the system, which recovers as much as 84-million gallons of water per year, preventing it from being discharged into municipal sewer systems.
