Follow on Google News | American Legion System Worth-Saving Town Hall Meeting and Crisis Center OperationBy: American Legion Department of Colorado Department Service Officer Dean Casey and Administrative Tech Erika Wycoff will be present at American Legion Post 4 during the town hall meeting to assist veterans and their families with claims that need to be filed or provide answer to questions about the claim process. Veterans Crisis Command Center will also be held at Post 4 from July 15 to the 18th. Members of the Legion’s national staff, Department of Colorado Service Office and the VA facilities staff will be on hand to assist veterans and their families. Services provided will include assistance in filing for VA appointment scheduling, grief counseling, benefits claims, and help with enrollment in VA health care. Department Service Officer Dean Casey and/or Administrative Tech Erika Wycofand will be available during the Crisis Center hours of operation to assist veterans and their families by providing answers to questions, help with claims and explain the duty of the veterans advocate during the claims process. Operating hours for the crisis center at Post 4 are noon to 8 p.m. on July 15, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the 16th and 17th, and 8 a.m. to noon on the 18th. The American Legion, with help from the VA, has been operating week-long crisis centers for veterans and family members since early June – in Phoenix, Fayetteville, N.C., and El Paso, Texas.
