Edge Dental Adds Gold Medal-Winning Staff to Respected Winnipeg Clinic

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - July 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Edge Dental, a Winnipeg clinic offering general and cosmetic dentistry, TMD treatment/neuromuscular dentistry services, now has two winners of the University of Manitoba Gold Medal award on its staff.

Earlier this year, Edge Dental (http://www.edgedental.ca) added Dr. Alanna Junaid to its team, who won the award from the university’s Faculty of Dentistry for the class of 2014. In addition, one of the clinic's new dental hygienists, Aaron Benedict Szucsik, received the same honor from the university’s School of Dental Hygiene.

A promising young Winnipeg dentist (http://www.edgedental.ca/about-us), Dr. Junaid graduated with honours from the University of Manitoba and won a national Canadian Dental Association research award in her time there. It was the first time in more than two decades that a student in Manitoba had received the honor. She joined Edge Dental in May.

Besides receiving the Gold Medal award for Dental Hygiene, Szucsik earned the Governor General’s Academic Bronze Medal, which recognizes excellence in a two-year professional program other than agriculture. Szucsik set himself apart among his peers while attending the University of Manitoba, both in terms of academics and obtaining valuable practicum experience.

In addition, Edge Dental recently hired Lang after she spent the past months conducting her practicum at the clinic. The team at the practice was impressed with the knowledge and skill she demonstrated as she assisted patients and dental staff, and decided to hire her as an employee immediately after she completed her coursework.

“We were impressed by the skill, effort and level of expertise we saw in Aaron, Amanda and Dr. Junaid as they pursued their respective degrees,” said Dr. Winchar. “These three professionals will make outstanding additions to our growing team.”
