USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships to be held in Milwaukee in August

MILWAUKEE - July 8, 2014 - PRLog -- PEC Meetings Company has officially announced that they will be partnering with USA Triathlon for a second consecutive year for the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships, scheduled for mid-August.

Last year’s event set a new record for participants.  More than 4,000 athletes from all 50 states between the ages of 15 and 89 swam, biked and ran through Milwaukee.  The event was a huge success for the athletes, USA Triathlon, and the city of Milwaukee,which prompted the event to be named the Best Urban Triathlon Race of 2013 by Triathlon Business International.

With even more competitors expected this year, PEC and USA Triathlon willrecreate the same atmosphere and excitement for this year’s racers and spectators alike.  Last year PEC was responsible for contracting suppliers, set up and maintenance of the course and the race’s transition campus, located at Milwaukee Art Museum and Discovery World.  “The assistance PEC provided to USA Triathlon was instrumental in finding creative ways to cut costs and enhance the experience for the athletes and spectatorswhile, keeping the project withinbudget”, said Blake Zink, USA Triathlon National Events Manager.

This year, PEC is adding food and beverage to their list of responsibilities.  “This extends not only to providing the athletes with a post-race meal to replenish the energy they exhausted during the race, but to concessions for the spectators as well”, stated Denice Waldhuetter, Vice President of PEC Meetings Company.  “PEC will oversee every aspect from the delivery and preparation of the food to donating leftovers to local shelters after the event is complete”.

The USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships will take place on August 9-10, once again centered at Milwaukee lakefront landmarks such as Discovery World and Milwaukee Art Museum. The talent pool for this year’s event will be exceptional as the National Championships are the lone qualifier for Team USA for the 2015 ITU Triathlon World Championships, slated to take place next year in Chicago.
