Help for homeless at EMR Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - July 8, 2014 - PRLog -- EMR is celebrating its third year as one of Allentown Rescue Mission's most important community partners.  The company teamed up with the homeless shelter to try and help get some of its regular users back on their feet after finding themselves without a job or somewhere to live.

"Since the homeless shelter started providing labor to the Allentown scrap recycler, more than 25 formerly homeless men have learned – and earned – the value of a paycheck through their work at EMR. Some have even found permanent employment at the facility," said a rep from the shelter.

EMR has donated over $7,000 since joining forces with the charity and has already given more than 25 shelter users paid employment.  A cheque presentation took place earlier this year at the company's Allentown scrap yard where they were formally thanked by a charity representative for all of their support so far.
