Follow on Google News | Patent Attorney Talks to Career College StudentsBy: Community Care College According to his website, Attorney Brown has been helping companies nationwide with their intellectual property needs for more than 23 years. Brown’s areas of practice include patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, litigation, licensing, infringement and invalidity analyses, opinion writing, and due diligence related to the purchase and sale of intellectual property assets and businesses. “Our students will undoubtedly benefit from attorney Brown's expertise in all matters of intellectual property,” said Anne Ditmore, Paralegal Department Head. “So many [students] today don't understand the very basics of preserving even trademarks, or the value that they add to a business. Thanks to Dennis Brown, our students will know how to identify and protect their ideas and designs.” Not just anyone can become a patent attorney. To qualify you must have an undergraduate degree in science or engineering and must have passed the patent law examination. A patent attorney like Brown can understand a process enough to technically describe it in a patent application and distinguish it from existing patents on similar products, enabling the idea’s owner to achieve the legal protection of a patent. Brown will be speaking to students during their Business Law class, a requisite course for students going for their Associate of Occupational Science with the college. CCC is grateful to have the opportunity to hear from Attorney Dennis Brown. About Community Care College Community Care College (http://www.communitycarecollege.edu/ End
