Competition Champion Wins Himself A New Hotel Job With Hilton Worldwide

July 7, 2014 - PRLog -- DEAD SEA, Jordan – July 7, 2014 – Hilton Worldwide’s successful culinary initiative in Jordan involving local youth, climaxed recently with a grand finale and the crowning of the winner of a recent competition to secure a job in a Hilton Worldwide hotel.

21-year-old Motaz Zayed from the Jordan Applied University was the first winner of a guaranteed contract of employment with Hilton Worldwide following the successful completion of the “What’s Your Beef?” cooking competition organized in celebration of the Youth in Hospitality Month in May by King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre managed by Hilton. Motaz will take up his position as apprentice chef in UAE at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort & Residences.

The runner-ups: George Siryani, Laith Matalka, and Moussa Abboud were also granted a contract of employment at the Hilton Dead Sea Resort and Spa upon their graduation.

Eight students from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and the Jordan Applied University participated in the two-stage competition giving students the opportunity to create and name a special dish to be studied and sampled by a high-profile team of judges.  A grand finale cook-off took place in front of an energetic audience of fellow students, teachers and Hilton Worldwide team members who joined the judging panel members to celebrate the chosen winner.

The winning dish of Motaz Zayed, will also be featured for one year on the menu at a restaurant in the upcoming Hilton Dead Sea Resort and Spa hotel. All profits generated from the sale of this dish for the period of 12 months will be directed to cover the tuition fees of a hospitality school student.
