Houston Dynamo to visit Galveston Pirate Soccer Club for friendly match, July 12th

GALVESTON, Texas - July 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Texas Premier Soccer League club Galveston Pirate Soccer Club is excited to announce the next step in its regeneration by unveiling a friendly against the Houston Dynamo of the MLS.

The Houston Dynamo u-23 side will feature up and coming young stars as well as future MLS hopefuls.

Galveston Pirate currently feature former Vasco de Gama midfielder Tiago Goncalves, who signed his first professional contract at 16 with the Brazilian first division side.

The Pirates also have former Miami United goalkeeper Carlos Herrera and local Ball High School center back Shaunn Houck on board for this match and the for-seeable future.

The match, which be new owner Bill Alsobrooks second game in charge said, “This is a huge match for our club and the community. For us to test our players against a club with the pedigree of the Dynamo is an amazing opportunity.”

"It's also a great opportunity for the soccer supporters in the Galveston area to be able to view MLS at close range without travelling to the BBVA Stadium and we hope they turn out to view what will be a great spectacle of soccer."

Galveston Pirate SC will host this matchup on Saturday July 12th, 2014 at Weis Stadium, 7300 Stewart Road, on Galveston Island.

Kick off is at 11am and admission is only $5.

Texas Premier Soccer League {TPSL} http://www.tpslsoccer.com is a professionally run mens adult outdoor soccer league that plays across Texas. The league is sanctioned by US Club Soccer, an affiliate of USSF. As such, the winners of TPSL gain entry into the following years Lamar Hunt US Open Cup competition. Teams play from September to March with the Texas Cup competition also being played during the season.
