Grammy Winning Producer Don Was Features Singer Jess Domain at 14th Annual Detroit Concert of Colors

DETROIT - July 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Plan to hear a Live Bullet in downtown Detroit on July 12. A performance of Bob Seger’s Live Bullet album, that is. Grammy award winning producer Don Was will recreate the full record with a select group of Detroit musicians, including Jess Domain singing “Beautiful Loser.” “I chose the song “Beautiful Loser” because not only is it a gorgeous melody but it’s never been sung by a woman in concert before. Seger was inspired by Leonard Cohen’s book, “Beautiful Losers” and both songwriters have influenced my career, so I wanted to create my own version of it with Don,” explains Domain.

This year is the 14^th Annual Concert of Colors. “I am so proud to be a part of this year’s festival. I’ve been away working on my music career in New York for a few years and coming home to sing for my family and friends with this group of gifted musicians is incredible”, says Domain. Coming home has been a theme for Jess in 2014. The closing scenes in “Pokémon The Movie Genesect and The Legend Awakened” are highlighted by Domain’s original song, “We’re Coming Home”. It’s not every local songwriter-singer who gets her first big break in the music business touring with Aretha Franklin…Her career has expanded into licensing and writing music for film and television. Original tracks have been heard on more than 30 TV shows, including Damages, Katie, NCIS, Two and a Half Men, and Law & Order. Seven of her songs were featured during the first season of the Cinemax “After Dark” series The Girl’s Guide to Depravity, including “Found My Soul,” the title of her last EP.
