BURNS HARBOR, Ind. - July 3, 2014 - PRLog -- It is with great excitement that Lake Shore Ford announces the coming arrival of the 2015 Ford Focus ST Diesel. Fans of the souped up hatchback—also known as a “hot hatch”—have something else to look forward to in the 2015 model.

As if the standard EcoBoost engine of the Focus ST were not enough, they are giving drivers an almost completely different take on the vehicle. While the two engines are actually the same size, their power outputs are drastically different due to the nature of each fuel:

The standard Focus ST is rated at 252 hp at 5500 RPM and 272 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 RPM.
The Focus ST Diesel has 185 hp at 3500 RPM and 295 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 to 2,750 RPM.

Despite the variations, both engines have the same six-speed transmission and steering and suspension tuning, but with gear ratios specific to the different power curves. The steering and suspension were both revised for 2015, with a recalibrated electronic steering system and sportier shocks with new front springs.

In short, drivers will be able to get access to one of the sportiest and most technologically advanced hatchbacks on the road today, and while prices have yet to be announced, Ford has done an incredible job of making all versions of the Focus easily affordable. The 2015 Focus ST will likely be no different.

Although the diesel has been announced, its US availability is still up in the air. Diesel vehicles are becoming more popular around the states, but at this point in time, anything is speculation. European drivers can expect the 2015 Focus ST Diesel in early 2015.

In the meantime, readers can visit Lake Shore Ford and take a test drive of the current model—although the new one should handle much better thanks to the updates—or just browse the current inventory of Ford vehicles. Lake Shore Ford is located in Burns Harbor, just a short drive from nearby communities like Valparaiso, Portage, and Chesterton.
