John Moores Painting Prize sponsors dedicate Liverpool One showroom window to finalists

LIVERPOOL, U.K. - July 3, 2014 - PRLog -- To celebrate the announcement of the five finalists for the John Moores Painting Prize, sponsors David M Robinson (http://www.davidmrobinson.co.uk/) has dedicated the entire window of their Liverpool One showroom to showcase the finalists winning work.

The unveiling of the window containing the reproduced, winning images and artwork will take place on Saturday 5^th July. This coincides with the opening of the exhibition held at the Walker Art Gallery, on the same day and will run until 30th November 2014.

David M Robinson is proud to be sponsoring the £25,000 first prize of the John Moores Painting Prize, dubbed by former judge Sir Norman Rosenthal as the 'Oscars of the painting world'.

A pool of international experts will judge the competition with the five, lucky finalists announced on Friday 4 July, at a press call at Liverpool's Walker Art Gallery. Any UK artist working with paint is entitled to submit their entry for the competition.

The competition is part of the UK's largest contemporary arts festival, the Liverpool Biennial, which takes place from 5 July until 26 October 2014. The event also coincides with the Liverpool International Festival of Business.

David M Robinson is the biggest private sector support towards the Liverpool-based competition. Mersey-grown businessman and founder David Robinson was keen to sponsor this home grown event as well as nurture Merseyside arts.
