LITCHFIELD, Conn. - July 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Discover how every day and anywhere nature can guide, calm, inform and restore you with Marlow Shami.  Studies conducted over the past twenty years confirm that contact with natural world and meditation can lift your spirits, reduce anxiety, alleviate pain, increase brain function, and help cultivate a sense of belonging and compassion.  In this lecture, beautiful and compelling images support Marlow’s focus on the challenges and rewards of connecting with nature in a mass-technological culture.  After the lecture there will be an outdoor component from 8:00- 8:30 p.m.  Come and experience the simple power of nature’s healing effects through guided meditation and out-of-door experiential activities.

Marlow Shami is a nature based teacher, artist, and writer who conducts Nature as Healer workshops and talks throughout New England specializing in the healing connection between humans and the natural world.  Shami received her BFA in photography and video from the University of Hartford Art School and her Masters in Science in Ecopsychology.  Throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s Marlow worked as an independent videographer and still photographer producing educational videotapes in the Greater Hartford area.  She then embarked in a seven-year career as an editor, videographer and producer for TV news at a CBS affiliate.  Her website is marlowshami.com.
